| Nature and Status

As a special organization for administrative supervision and inspection, the Ministry of Supervision was established to guarantee the implementation of government decrees, maintain administrative discipline, facilitate the building of an honest and clean government, improve public administration and raise administrative efficiency, and enhance law awareness of public servants in performing public duties. The Constitution of the People's Republic of China stipulates that the State Council administers the supervision work and the Ministry of Supervision, which is subordinate to the State Council, is the organ that exercises the function of supervision work throughout the country. It exercises its functions and powers in accordance with law and shall be subject to no interference from any administrative departments, public organization or individuals.
