Workers of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps crop lavender in the valley of the Ili River in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region July 8, 2006. The corps started to plant lavender in the valley in the 1960s, making it the largest planting base of lavender in China, with the outputs of dehydrated flowers and lavender perfume exceeding 100 tons per year.
