Chinese Higher Education Exhibition held in Saudi Arabia

From Jan. 26 to Jan. 29, 2010, Chinese Higher Education Delegate, headed by the Secretary-General of China Scholarship Council (CSC) Liu Jinghui, attended the first higher education exhibition organized by the Ministry of Higher Education of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The delegate member includes Peking University, Tsinghua University, Fudan University, Tongji University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, East China Normal University, East China University of Science & Technology, Donghua University, Shanghai University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan University of Technology, China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), Zhejiang University and other famous universities in China.

During the four days' exhibition, Chinese Higher Education Delegation has received 5000 on-the-spot consultations, signed two Memorandum of Understandings and 10 cooperative projects have been negotiated. The exhibition has introduced and publicized the reform and achievement of China's Higher Education, promoted the Student Movement between China and Saudi Arabia, intensified the exchanges and cooperation in the academic field, and explored the international students' market in Saudi Arabia.

During the exhibition, Liu Jinghui has met with Salim Al Malik, director of Ministry of Higher Education of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the officials in charge of the King Abdullah Scholarship. Liu also paid a visit to the Chinese Ambassador to Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Yang Honglin. Liu Jinghui also visited the King Saud University, King Abdulaziz University, King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, listened to their introduction of these universities, and learned the development of the Higher Education in Saudi Arabia.
